Birthday Bash Fundraiser

Spider House Ballroom presents: THE BILL HICKS BIRTHDAY BASH
WHEN
: Friday, December 18th, Doors 9pm
WHERE: Spider House Ballroom | 2906 Fruth St., Austin, TX 78705
$7 SUGGESTED DONATION | 18 AND OVER | SPIDERHOUSEAUSTIN.COM
Join us December 18th to celebrate the life and legacy of Texas Outlaw Comic Bill Hicks just a few days after what would have been his 54th birthday. The now legendary comedian and music and animal lover is often cited as one of the best, most “necessary” comics ever (Paste Magazine, Telegraph UK, Slate). So it seems only right to throw a bash featuring some of Austin’s best comics and bands, and that said bash will benefit Hicks’ Austin-based Wildlife Foundation.

The evening features two stages of live comedy from Hicks fans Chris Tellez (Cap City Comedy, ATX Comedy Hour), Danny Palumbo (Funniest Person in Austin, ATX Uncensored(ish), Bounce House) and Avery Moore (Moontower Comedy, Fun Fun Fun Fest, Betches of Comedy), as well as an early Hicks screening of "Relentless" and plenty of live music.

Featuring self-described “post sincerity garage-punkers” Sailor Poon ,dream wave, psych rockers Lunar Gold, plus surreal rockers Another De Sade and finally, art-rockers Attic Ted invade the Ballroom with their theatrical punk.

Get there early for a screening of "Relentless"  and stay for the art raffle including a painting of Hicks’ famous American Flag Gag photo. $7 suggested donation gets you in the door and donations of $7 or higher get a raffle ticket. Raffle tickets can be purchased for $2 each or 3 for $5. All proceeds from the evening will benefit the Bill Hicks Wildlife Foundation, located here in Austin.  The Foundation will also be at the event with Hicks T-shirts, CD's books and more and will provide a "Hicks prize Pack" also for the raffle.

“I left in love, in laughter, and in truth and wherever truth, love and laughter abide, I am there in spirit.” –Bill Hicks (1994)
