As the first animal we raised and released, "Pine Cone" was the true mother of the Foundation. Bill used to crack up for hours playing with Pine Cone. Bill had a raccoon when he was young, but as with Pine Cone, the coon could tear the house apart in a matter of hours. One time, Pine Cone hid a stick of butter and a raw egg under the sheets and left the bathtub running -- a true sign it was time for Piney to go free.
